Project VR C

This project was a head to toe make over for a Richmond Hill home for 3 generations.  We pretty much touched every single corner of the main and 2nd floor and the result was very rewarding!

Let’s start talking about the main entrance, it includes the visual of the stair case and the entrance hallway.

Notice that the strips on the wall which looks like wall paper were actually painting techniques that were hand painted by the contractors, recently a statement wall is my personal favourite

Now let’s move to the kitchen.  As a major part of all houses, it’s always so much fun updating the kitchen.  The home owner wanted a crisp white kitchen like before, so we only need to change the cabinet doors, but it still had a great impact and we were able to keep the cost minimal.  I love the hexagon marble backsplash, it turned out so beautiful!

The fireplace in the family room also got a face lift.

The 2nd floor hallway originally had an opening over looking downstairs which home owners prefer to have a enclosed flooring to have extra room, so we extended the floor of that section and added pot lights on the main floor and re-stained the floor of the entire house.

The kids bathroom is an interconnected one between 2 bedrooms, we had to change the layout a bit and extend the wall to make a double sink for it.

Project LN S

A finished basement adds more space to a Midtown Semi.  The whole family gets to enjoy the additional space as we put an entertainment open space, a gym and more storage in an older home.  The heated floor is everyone’s treat for the laminate flooring.

Project FG C

I had a great time working on this chic basement project.  It helps when the home owners have great taste and see eye to eye with me.  This basement consists of a 3 piece bathroom, laundry room, open area for entertainment and a study/bedroom which can host awesome parties and movie nights!

Project RC D

A Willowdale conversion. I regret I wasn’t able to get the final product of the whole project.  But you can get an idea about some of the stuff we did from the pictures I took during the project.

The external includes changing of the main door and the window panels, chopping off the trees that blocked the front.

Reno in the older homes usually has more surprises but definitely worth it because these homes have so many characters!

Project HW D

The Sun Arc group had just finished another incredible project.  This one, the home owner had chosen to go with a classic charm.  The entire house got a face lift with some simple yet beautiful finishes.

The stairs were changed to a contrast colour which gave the entrance a dramatic change.

Project HD L

A project for a busy family of 6.  The home owner wanted to create a space that is safe for the kids, a great entertainment central and a very functional working space for a busy wedding photographer.

It involved numerous sub-projects including changing the master bathroom sink and shower door, painting the whole house, creating a home theatre in the Great room, putting alteration to the kitchen, re-facing the fireplace and finishing the basement.

Master Ensuite bathroom  – A traditional single sink on a large vanity was changed to a modern one piece duo-sink and put in full glass panel as the shower door, this gave the master ensuite an instant update.

The story

Many of you are having a hard time to find good, reliable contractors because of many reasons.  Communication, craftsmanship, timeline, etc.  And believe me, I was in the same boat.  For my previous home, the renovation ended bad, so bad…  I was 34 weeks pregnant and in the end of the reno, I was in tears and had to terminate their work.  Worst of all, the contractor took the last payment (which he claimed it wasn’t enough) and turned off one of the hidden powder room water valve and took us 3 hours to locate it.  From then, I was afraid to work with any contractors.

For my 2nd house, I happened to come across a group of extremely talented contractors who know exactly what they are doing, referred to me by my Real Estate agent Stephen Sun (416-617-9997).  Stephen always gives really good referral so I decided to give them a try.  Next I know was this 2nd experience turned out to be such a different one and a much more pleasant one!  The team was friendly, accommodating, punctual and most importantly they give great price and do great work.   Every single one of them are very professional and great to work with.  When they were working on my house, because some sub-trades delay, they weren’t able to do their part until the very last day before our move in date.  While I was terribly worried, I decided to pay the new house a visit.  And what I saw was about 12 workers at my house, pulling overtime to complete whatever was left on that day and allowing my family to move into the house on time the next day.  I was so touched and thankful.  What a great team!!  This had totally changed my experience with contractors and renovations!

Here are some of the Before and After photos of my house.

To Date, I have accomplished connections with several of this kind of teams!

Because of my love of Interior Design and Decoration, and being a project manager for over 10 years in the IT field, I feel that taking a new challenge of being a Home Improvement Project Manager working with these contractors will have unlimited possibilities.

It was a fantastic experience for me going through the renovation and I believe it would be the same for you too!
